Chelsea wrestled tough at the districts, which took place recently, beating Jackson Northwest 42-33 and losing in the finals to Mason 54-24.
“I was very proud of the boys and I think the win over Jackson Northwest was one of our best wins of the season,” said Wrestling Coach Adam French. “I am very proud of all the boys for their effort all year long and am excited to see how well we do at districts.
Getting wins for the Bulldogs against Jackson Northwest were Aiden Fernandez, Tristan Koch, Will McEachern, Steve Bleise, Dan Wisniewski, Ryan Eisley, Noah Manly, and Jacob Gaken.
Against Mason wins were tough to come by, but Tristan Koch, Will McEachern, Steve Bleise, Zach Bennett, and Noah Manly were able to score points for the team.
“These wins will help the boys as they head into individual districts and help them get closer to their goals of making it to the state meet,” he said. “It’s an exciting time of year where all the hard work hopefully pays off.”
Chelsea will be wrestling this Saturday at Milan, come cheer us on.
