Brahma Haus restaurant, located at 312 North Main St. in Chelsea, welcomed new owner Traver Lucas at a ribbon cutting Oct. 14 with representatives from the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce in attendance.

Lucas took ownership of the restaurant in August and is pleased with its location by the Clocktower building. Among some of the changes he’s made is expanding the menu and implementing a new online ordering system.

Lucas says he’s currently working on changing the menu boards, painting the interior, and dressing up the store front.

“Our menu is Middle Eastern and Indian including naan, basmati rice, falafel, hummus, tabouli, as well as Greek, such as gyro and Greek chicken and Tzatziki, and some American staples like burger and fries,” he said.

Lucas grew up in Manchester and studied culinary arts at Washtenaw Community College.

“I’ve owned a few other businesses over the years including Chef House Catering, Innovation Cafe in Plymouth, and Boogie Woogie BBQ in Hamburg Township (in Livingston County),” said Lucas, who most recently worked for the Session Room in Ann Arbor as both a consultant and a chef.

He and his family moved to Chelsea last year.

  1. Congratulations,
My daughter found this place and we enjoyed three very good meals. Mine was made to order, I’m on a restricted diet. Food was great!
