Lima Township Hall

There are several conceptual updates now available from Midwestern Consulting regarding its engineering study of the Lima Township Hall property. That was announced at the Township Board’s Dec. 11 meeting.

The consulting firm determined that another building could be constructed on the property. Township Supervisor Craig Maier says the process of determining what to do with the township property, in particular Lima Township Hall, is moving along.

Maier said that he has been trying to get bids on remediation of the dangerous radon levels inside the Township Hall building but has only received one bid so far. He wants additional bids before making any decision. Radon levels are 12.4 in the basement and 5.7 on the main level with the acceptable level being less than 4.0.

As a matter of formality, the Lima Township Board reviewed the proposed Chelsea Area Fire Authority budget for 2018.
