Each day, I see lots of people out running and I hope they plan to participate in Run for the Rolls during the Chelsea Community Fair.

The annual 1-mile run takes place on Aug. 24, beginning at 12:45 and ends on Old US-12 at the fairgrounds just before the start of the fair parade.

In its 7th year,  runners take to the streets and are encouraged to the finish by about 3,000 spectators who have lined the streets awaiting the start of the Fair Parade.

The 1-mile run is open to runners of all ability levels and is a family-friendly race.

Plus, as the name suggests, age division winners receive yummy Common Grill rolls.

You can pre-register for the 1-mile run in person at Aberdeen Bike & Outdoors, 1101 S Main St. on Friday, Aug. 23 from 3:30-7 p.m. or on race day starting at 9 a.m. outside Thompson’s Pizza, 20700 Old US- 12.
