Countdown to fair: Plan Your Week with this schedule

It's time for the 75th Annual Chelsea Community Fair.

Today, Sunday, Aug. 19: Admission to the fair is free (no rides, no animals) but there is a FREE tractor pull in the Main Arena that begins at 9 a.m. In addition, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., exhibitors will be entering their agricultural, antiques, baking, canning, floraculture, arts and photography, machine sewing and needlework.

Monday, Aug. 20: Free admission to the antique tractor pull that begins at 10 a.m. in the Main Arena. The green exhibit barn will be closed all day for exhibit judging.

Saturday preparations for the fair.

Tuesday, Aug. 21: The fair officially opens at noon for general admission but the rides do not begin until 5 p.m. All day — Nature’s Creation of Life barn open. 8-noon, livestock are entered. 9 a.m. Rabbit judging, 11 a.m. Poultry judging. Noon, exhibitor barn opens. Afternoon, horse show,  5-8 p.m. Colors the clown at various times. 5:30 p.m., Children’s parade, tricycle pull and kid’s day activities in the Main Arena. 7 p.m. Sheep judging in the Multi-Purpose Arena, 7:30 p.m. demolition Derby, three heats and a feature.

Wednesday, Aug. 22: All exhibits open today and for the rest of the week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Rides begin at 1 p.m. from North American Midway Entertainment. 8 a.m. Goat judging, Multi-Purpose Arena, all day, youth horse show, Nature’s Creation of Life, 11 a.m., Dairy Feeder calf judging in Multi-Purpose Arena, 1 p.m., beef judging, Multi-Purpose Arena, 3-7 p.m. Colors the Clown at various times, 4 p.m. Lumberjack Show with interactive camp to follow, 5 p.m. Swine judging in Multi-Purpose Arena, 6:30 Lumberjack show, 7:30 p.m. Chelsea Community Fair Demolition Derby, three heats and a feature, plus truck heat.

Thursday, Aug. 23: 10 a.m., dairy cattle judging in Multi-Purpose Arena, all day, 11 a.m. Draft Horse Pull in Main Arena, 1 p.m., Kiddie’s Peddle-Power Tractor pull in Multi-Purpose Arena,  youth horse show, Nature’s Creation of Life, 3-7 p.m. Colors the Clown, various times, 4 p.m. Lumberjack Show followed by Kid’s Interactive Lumberjack Camp, 6:30 p.m. Lumberjack Show, 7 p.m. Livestock Auction in Multi-Purpose Arena, 7:30 p.m., Figure-eight Demolition Derby.

Friday, Aug. 24: 8 a.m. Ladies Day, Youth Horse Show all day, 3-7 p.m. Colors the Clown, various times, 4 p.m. Lumberjack Show followed by Kid’s Interactive Lumberjack Camp, 6:30 p.m. Lumberjack Show, 7 p.m. selection of Fair Queen in the Multi-Purpose Arena, 7 p.m., Tractor Pull Contest – farm stock, speed-pull, weight transfer sled classes in the Main Arena.

Saturday, Aug. 25: 9 a.m. horse show, Nature’s Creation of Life all day, 1 p.m., Fair Parade, 3-7 p.m. Colors the Clown, various times, 3:30 p.m. Lumberjack show with Kid’s Interactive Lumberjack Camp to follow, 5 p.m., 75th Anniversary Square Dance in the covered arena – open participation, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Lumberjack Show, 7 p.m. Sweepstakes Showmanship, 7:30 p.m., 4-Wheel and 2-Wheel Drive Pulling Contest in Main Arena.

Soon these grounds will be filled with fair goers.
