Counting down to the 5th Annual Midwest Literary Walk

Have you marked your calendars for the 5th Annual Midwest Literary Walk, which takes place at various venues downtown on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.?

And, just how cool is it that crime novelist and screenwriter Elmore Leonard will read at the Purple Rose Theatre?

Leonard has won numerous awards over his 60-year career, including the F. Scott Fitzgerald Award, a PEN USA Lifetime Achievement Award, and the National Book Foundation’s Medallion for Distinguished Contributions to American Letters.

Plus, he’ll be joined by his son, Peter Leonard, an acclaimed writer of suspense thrillers as well.

Here’s the line-up:

11 a.m. | Purple Rose Theatre, Elmore Leonard | Peter Leonard

Noon | Chelsea Alehouse, Michael Brian Ogden | Lonnie Hull DuPont

1 p.m. | Lunch Break

2 p.m. | Back to the Roots, Jack Driscoll | Michael Delp

3 p.m. | Back to the Roots Open Mic

4 p.m. | River Gallery, Margaret Noori | ML Liebler & Coyote Monk Band

The Midwest Literary Walk is a joint venture between River Gallery, the Chelsea Writers’ Workshop and Chelsea District Library, with support from Nicola’s Books and the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority.
