“It is a great honor for me to welcome Craig and Nancy to our Board,” said John Mann, president and CEO of Chelsea State Bank. “Both Craig and Nancy bring strong management and leadership expertise to our board. They are experts in their fields and prominent business leaders in our communities. I look forward to working with them as they will bring new talents to board governance.”

Before opening The Common Grill, Common worked for the C.A. Muer Corporation overseeing 16 restaurants in Michigan, Ohio, and Florida as a Corporate Chef. The Common Grill opened its doors on July 26, 1991. Common also has written two popular cookbooks: The Common Grill Cookbook and Return to the Common Grill. Both books feature some of the restaurant’s most popular recipes.

Active in the community, Common is the chair of the annual summer Sounds and Sights Festival in Chelsea, president of CAFÉ – Chelsea Area Festivals and Events, and member and secretary of the Purple Rose Board of Directors. He studied at Northwood Institute.

Graebner is a native of Ann Arbor and her current position marks a return to the area when she joined Chelsea Community Hospital in 2012, leaving her post at Bon Secours St Francis Health System, Inc., in Greenville S.C.

Under Graebner’s direction, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital has expanded the Acute Care Campus by 150,000 square feet to include all private patient rooms and a comprehensive cancer center. Included in this effort has been further integration and regionalization of the Chelsea Hospital with the regional health system and the national system Trinity Health with corporate offices in Livonia, Mich. SJMC participates in the St. Joseph Mercy Health Partners Accountable Care organization with  St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospitals for population management contracts.

Graebner has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Saginaw Valley State University. She serves as a member of numerous boards including the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, Washtenaw Health Initiative, St. Joseph Mercy Health Partners, St Louis Center, Chelsea Wellness foundation, and St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea.

“Craig and Nancy are joining our Board as Dudley K. Holmes Jr., vice president, Chelsea Milling Company reached our mandatory retirement age,” said Mann.

“We also lost a great leader on our Board last year with the passing of James R. Breining Sr. We appreciate the time and effort both of these men devoted to our organization, and will certainly miss their many years of counsel,” he said.
