Chelsea Cub Scout Pack 435 assembled 14 care packages for soldiers serving overseas. The boys included personal messages and Pack 435 T-shirts, and received a grant from Thrivent Financial to pay the shipping fees.
One of the soldiers who received a care package attended the pack’s monthly meeting and presented a flag signed by his fellow servicemen. He thanked the boys for the packages, and said, “What you did for them really meant a lot, and they wanted to say thank you.”
He also mentioned that throughout his deployment, he would see other servicemen wearing the Cub Scouts Pack 435 t-shirts, which was a proud moment for many of the scouts.
The flag will be framed and displayed at both North Creek Elementary and South Meadows Elementary schools.
