DDA member resigns from board

Jason Povich, owner of Jet’s Pizza, who served on the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority for about two years, recently resigned from the board.

“My time on the DDA with a great experience and what I enjoyed most about it was the people I served with have great hearts and a great love for the City of Chelsea,” Povich said, adding “I have the utmost confidence that the DDA is working for the people and the City of Chelsea.”

Povich said that he was resigning to concentrate on his four Jet’s stores as well as his humanitarian efforts in both India and Haiti.

This leaves an opening on the 12-member board, which is appointed by Mayor Jason Lindauer. He presents a nominee to the Chelsea City Council for council approval.
