Dec. 21: Blue Christmas service at St. Paul UCC

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Amy  Whitesall for the information in this story.)

St. Paul United Church of Christ will hold a Blue Christmas Service for those managing grief during the holidays on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m.

The church is located at 14600 Old U.S. 12.

“On the longest night of the year, St. Paul’s Blue Christmas service is designed to offer a space of worship and healing for those who experience grief and difficulty during the holiday season,” said Rev. Eric Stricklin in an invitation.

“Many people in our community are missing somebody, feeling lonely, or struggling with many complicated emotions during this holiday season. This service is a space to come and acknowledge those difficult emotions, pray, listen, and look to the light that still shines in darkness,” he said.

This service will be candle lit, and will include beautiful cello music and space for reflection. Those attending are invited to stay in our sanctuary space for as long as they need at the conclusion of the service. Come as you are, and know that you are not alone.
