SRSLY is gearing up for its seventh annual New Year’s Eve party at Beach Middle School on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 4-8 p.m.

More than 2,000 people have attended the SRSLY New Year’s Eve Party over the past six years. This year’s family-friendly event promises to be bigger and better than ever, as SRSLY has a great line-up of games, prizes, and live performances.

The event is free and open to everyone, including families from neighboring communities, or visitors from out of town.

SRSLY is seeking volunteers to help out for an hour during the event.

Coalition members are planning games and activities that will appeal to all ages, including team games and competitions (eating contests, relay races, card games and more), face painting, video games on classroom Smart Boards, cookie-decorating, live music, swimming, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and a chili cook-off.

The first ten entrants in the chili cook-off will receive a $10 gift card to Polly’s Country Market to purchase supplies. To sign up for the chili cook-off, contact Reiley Curran at [email protected] or call 734-593-5279.

The swimming pool will be open from 5-7 p.m., so don’t forget your bathing suits.

Door prizes awarded every half hour will include gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, board games, Jiffy mixes, and free passes to bowling. Pizza, pop, and other refreshments will be available for a suggested donation of $1 per item.

Organizations that would like to support the event can do so by donating prizes, refreshments, supplies for activities, or financial gifts to cover the cost of the event.

“Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment in which kids and parents can celebrate together,” said Reiley Curran, SRSLY director.
