The Dexter Township Board of Trustees will meet with Washtenaw County Road Commission officials Tuesday, Feb. 19 at about 7:30 p.m. to discuss 2013 road projects as part of its regular Township Board meeting.

The Road Commission offers a local matching program for different types of road and the funding distribution is based on the total number of uncurbed, non-subdivision local road centerline lines for each township. From this pot of money, there is $16,546 available for local road funding and $6,932 available from a drainage matching program.

For this matching program, the Road Commission has a total of $500,000 to spend throughout the county for local roads and $200,000 for drainage projects.

Among the proposed projects up for discussion are:

*Toma Road, Stinchfield Woods Road north to the county line, work on the road surface that would include an application of about 4 inches or 3,050 tons of 22a gravel at an estimated cost of $33,000.

*Stinchfield Woods Road, Dexter Townhall Road east to Toma Road, road work to include about 1,750 tons on 22a gravel at an estimated cost of $19,000.

*Stinchfield Woods Road, Dexter Townshall Road east to Toma Road, road work to include ditching, culvert cleanout and area restoration at an estimated cost of $11,000.

*Dancer Road, Township Line to Island Lake Road, the work to include the application of about 900 tons of 23a limestone at an estimated cost of $12,700.

*Wylie Road, Township Line to Dexter-Pinckney Road, ditching, culvert cleanout and project restoration at an estimated cost of $7,100.

*Township wide limestone, the application of 23a limestone and dust control on various roads throughout the township to be determined by the township supervisor and Road Commission District foreman at a cost of about $14.02 per ton with a not-to-exceed amount.

*Township wide gravel, the application of a 23a gravel surface and dust control on various roads throughout the township to be determined by the township supervisor and Road Commission district foreman at a cost of about $14.02 per ton with a not-to-exceed amount.

*Ditching work on various roads throughout the township with the work to be determined by the township supervisor or her designee and a Road Commission district foreman with a not-to-exceed cost.

*Township wide dust control on its 25.45 miles of certified local gravel roads with either kaiser well brine or calcium chloride.

Last year, the township agreed to three solid applications of kaiser well brine and one application costs about $7,278.70.
