DNR looking for volunteers for stewardship activities

The Department of Natural Resources is looking for a few good volunteers to assist with stewardship activities at two local recreation areas.

Help is needed to hand-pull spotted knapweed, an aggressive, invasive, non-native plant, and cut invasive shrubs.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to participate – including youth and scout groups, and service clubs.

Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work, including long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes, and bring gloves and drinking water. Long-sleeved shirts are recommended when pulling spotted knapweed.
