If you haven’t had a chance to see or sign the equality proclamation that’s making the rounds of Chelsea, it can be found at Back to the Roots until April 1.

By way of background, in February 2012, Chelsea community leaders signed a proclamation establishing the Chelsea area community as a place that does not tolerate prejudice or discriminatory treatment of any person, and welcomes people of varied backgrounds in the community.

Further, the city leaders resolved that the community will proactively uphold an environment of respect, dignity and mutual understanding among diverse groups and individuals.

On Martin Luther King Jr. in January, there was a reaffirmation ceremony to give citizens the opportunity to sign and show their support of this important document.

Support can also be expressed on the Proclamation Facebook page – www.facebook.com/ChelseaProclamation
