Tantré Farm, an organic farm just outside Chelsea, will be among the local growers that are part of Paesano Restaurant & Wine Bar‘s special Farm-To-Table dinner on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
The outdoor event will feature a locally sourced menu matched with some of Michigan’s finest wines. Ingredients for the five-course dinner will be provided through Lunasa, an online farmers’ market begun by Chelsea resident and local food advocate Jane Pacheco.
Paesano’s is located at 3411 Washtenaw Ave. in Ann Arbor, and a portion of the $65 ticket fee will go to the newly formed Washtenaw Food Hub.
According to a press release, the food hub on Whitmore Lake Road in Ann Arbor was begun earlier this year as “a community resource for local sustainable food,” by co-founder Richard Andres. “We’re making it a place where people can come and network, and share food distribution from the Community Supported Agriculture, known as CSAs, and maybe share some food recipes, too.”
Andres, and his partner, Deb Lentz, also own Tantre Farm, which will provide vegetables and other ingredients for the special dinner. The menu will feature later summer and early fall harvests.
Since becoming Paesano’s executive chef almost two years ago, David Whitney has been adding more and more local ingredients to the Italian season menu, according to information about the event. 
In addition to local farmers, the Michigan Wine Industry will be represented at the event including nearby Sandhill Crane Wines.
“We are excited to have virtually the entire menu sourced from the State of Michigan,”
Paesano owner Mike Roddy said in a press release about the event.
“Guests will get a true sense of where their foods come from and where they can get most anything they want right in this area,” he said. “And, this is really how the Italians have been eating for centuries – go to the local market, buy everything fresh and prepare it that day. Guests can shake the hands that feed them.”
Local farmers and other vendors will be on hand to talk about their products and the growth of the local food movement in Washtenaw County.
