(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Last Monday, Chelsea Kiwanis members celebrated Valentine’s day with their spouses away from the usual meeting location.

Kiwanians shared stories about the first time meeting their spouse and a song that has a special meaning to them.

Clun members took the opportunity to recognize member Brian Kidston for his 50-year service to the community as a Kiwanian. He began his Kiwanis service in Plymouth, Michigan in 1969. Kiwanis bestows the Legion of Honor to members achieving milestones like Kidston’s. For the last few years, Chelsea has been his home. We congratulate him for his dedication.

Monday, the club will hear from Darlene Regis, president of the Chelsea Athletic Boosters. She will update us on their activities. Chelsea Kiwanis has supported the Boosters for many years in their efforts to enhance student’s athletic experiences. They have used the Kiwanis food concession trailer at home football games as a fundraiser.

Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to enjoy our speakers and learn about Kiwanis.
