The American Legion Post 31 Winter Carnival will take place Feb. 4-6 at the Legion Post, 1700 Ridge Road, in Sylvan Township.
This winter weekend offers a chance to compete in the annual fishing derby on Friday afternoon, Feb. 4 followed by some card playing during the annual euchre tournament.
Gather in the warmth of the Legion Hall for the tournament that begins at 7 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee, and you must be 18 years or older to play.
On Saturday, Feb. 5, start the day with breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon while the annual fishing derby begins at 7 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. At night, listen to a band and dance the night away. This year, it’s the band BoVine.
Sunday’s events have been scaled back a bit – there won’t be the kids’ carnival – but you can stop by for breakfast on Feb. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. The carnival officially ends at 2 p.m.
Food and beverages will be sold all day during the carnival, but no alcohol will be served on Sunday, Feb. 6.
