When 5th-grade students at South Meadows return to school today, they will learn about their 6th-grade camp and new school experience, as on Feb. 19, representatives from Beach Middle School will be on hand.
“We are very excited to welcome your students to Beach and strongly believe that our high academic standards paired with our commitment to the middle school philosophy will ensure a memorable experience,” wrote Nick Angel, principal at the middle school, wrote to 5th-grade parents.
There is a transition program in place complete with “grade-specific experiences” that make the 6th grade year one to remember for students, he wrote.
Also, 5th grade parents should mark their calendars now for the 5th grade parent night in the Beach cafeteria on April 11 at 7 p.m.
Then, student “move up day” will occur on May 24, and the annual open house will take place just before school opens this fall.
