On Sunday, Jan. 20 Kathie Gourlay and Barbara Locks presented the CROP Hunger Walk Golden Sneaker to Fr. Gregory Joyce of St. Vladimir Orthodox Church.

The Golden Sneaker is given to the participating organization that increased their amount raised by the highest percentage as compared to the previous year.

St. Vladimir raised $520.

St. Vladimir was one of 18 organizations that participated in the Chelsea/Dexter CROP Hunger Walk last October. The total raised by all the participants was $28,204.

This money will be used to help hungry and poor people around the world, with 25 percent going to Faith in Action.

The 2019 Walk will be held on the first Sunday in October in Dexter, and Barbara Locks will be the coordinator.
