For the last 9 years, Theresa Bolda has used her business to give back to deployed troops, victims of domestic violence, and more recently, people going through a tough time while undergoing chemotherapy.
She was connected to the Director of Courtyard East Medical Oncology Infusion at Chelsea Hospital and asked if they would be willing to accept chemo care packages, which would include personal care products.
They graciously accepted the offer.
So, through the help of her customers, colleagues, businesses, friends and family, she’s been able to provide items to help sooth the effects of chemo.
“The first year, we were able to gift over 70 packages. This year, we were able to gift around 90 packages, and I’m so grateful to so many people who have supported this cause. It wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s help,” Bolda said.
“I know that personal care makes such a difference in how one feels about themselves and impacts other areas of their life,” she said.
Bolda provides the products, supplies/packaging, “thinking of you” prayer cards and delivers them.
“The response was overwhelming and so many people in and around this community were generous in their support,” she said.
The feedback she’s received from recipients “has been heartwarming and means so much to me, because I love helping others and this is one small way I feel I can give back to this community that gives so much to me.”
If you know someone going through chemo who might like a personal care package, or if you would like to share your experience that Bolda can share with those who help provide the packages, please contact her at www.marykay.com/boldat, boldat@hotmail.com.
