Giving thanks for a special Thanksgiving

Just wanted to publish a note of gratitude to St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea for supporting our Thanksgiving Day meal.

In response to seniors who are alone on Thanksgiving Day, the SJMC Hospital, Chelsea Senior Center, and Faith in Action partnered to offer a meal in the hospital dining room for anyone who might not have family to spend the holiday with.

For this event, we had 48 attendees and volunteers, who were very thankful to have a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting to share it:

Carolyn “It was wonderful.”

Jean “Hope they do this next year.”

Joan “It was nice that they did this for us.”

Group “It was a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by lovely people, camaraderie, and laughter. Food was delicious, but company was the best part!”

Additionally, the SJMC hospital provided 22 meals that were delivered to homebound seniors on Thanksgiving Day. Meals on Wheels volunteers, coordinated by the Chelsea Senior Center, delivered these meals to homebound seniors in Chelsea and Manchester.
