Gold and Blue Volleyball Teams Find Success on the Courts

7 Gold

7th Gold volleyball won against Lincoln on Monday. The first two games were 25-16 and 26-24, and the third came close with 23-25.

Rylee Williams and Elena Reginaldo led the team in serving, each earning 5 points in a row. Zara Mida was aggressive at the net on defense. Gabby Ferrell and Nadia Doma both had great movement and coverage in the back row.

The team will play against Saline (home) on Thursday.

8 Gold

Chelsea 8 Gold volleyball dominated in serving last night at Lincoln. The team won every game by 10 points or more. (25-7, 25-13, 25-7)

In the first set, Phia Stanivich served 7 aces in a row. The 2nd saw 6 points from Morgan Grim and 7 points from Cece O’Rourke.  Maddie Hedding started the 3rd set with 7 points in a row and Abria Eckert ended the game with an amazing 15 points with 10 of them aces.

Other highlights include a tip by Emily Xiang, a front row kill by Gianna Barney and a back row hit by Charlie Schmunk.

Way to go team.

7 Blue

The 7th grade volleyball Blue team battled tough vs the Adrian Maple Leafs and won their home match. The Dawgs suffered a loss in set one 18-25 but came back strong and won set two 25-15 and set three 25-16.

Top servers for the night were Brooke Reiser and Sloane Steele. Scarlett Delong showed her leadership on the court with consistent balls over the net and Logan Schoeneman hustled to make good plays from the back row. Sophia Grobsmith saw good action on the court along with Mia Kloos.

8Blue

8 Blue volleyball lost to Adrian last night but not without a fight. They won one set and fought hard against some heavy servers and skilled front row.

Amazing net play, tips, and save by Peyton Myers. Madi Wheeler had some great hits and a kill at the net. Ava Skrypec had aces throughout all games with seven in game one to start us off. Anna Moser served well throughout with many aces and some great back row saves.

Melina King shut down some players at the net with a block and a few tips. Claire Vaquera had some good passes and smart play throughout.

The team plays at Saline Thursday.
