Grass Lake Senior Center seeks program manager

The Grass Lake Senior Center is seeking a program manager.

In November 2014, residents of Grass Lake approached the Chelsea Senior Center for assistance with starting a senior center in the Grass Lake community. In March 2015, this partnership successfully opened the doors to a new Grass Lake Senior Center (GLSC) located at the township hall offering a senior lunch program and a variety of wellness and social activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

With support and funding from the Copper Nail, Grass Lake DDA, Grass Lake Village, and 5 Healthy Towns Foundation, the GLSC is celebrating a year of success and planning for future growth.

Part of this strategic plan is to recruit a program manager dedicated to sustaining the GLSC. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours a week throughout the year, with some weekends and evenings for special events. This staff position will be located onsite at the GLSC to oversee current programming and future growth.

This staff position will support the mission of the Grass Lake and Chelsea Senior Centers to enhance the quality of life and well-being for area seniors and their families.

Primary responsibilities:
Assist the GL Steering Committee in “goodwill ambassador” functions.

Oversee annual fundraising plan with support from GL Steering Committee including fundraising events, grants, corporate sponsorships, and private donors.

Develop cooperative relationships with other community organizations for programming.

Promote and publicize GL programs to the community using multiple platforms.

Supervise instructors, leaders, program assistants, and volunteers in support of GL programs and activities.
