Help turn musical playlists into lifetimes of memories

music-and-memory-logoThe Chelsea District Library has partnered with Silver Maples, Chelsea Senior Center, Chelsea Retirement Community, and Ascent Audiology to offer music therapy to Chelsea residents through the Chelsea Music and Memory Project.

Music and Memory is a non-profit organization that teaches caregivers how to build personalized music playlists on iPods and other devices, with the aim of helping those with cognitive impairments like dementia improve the quality of their life. The project is made possible through a grant from the Chelsea Community Foundation.

To ensure the program’s success, we need technical volunteers who can help manage playlists and devices for our users. If you are comfortable with technology and want to make a difference in someone’s life, or want to learn more, please join us at one of the Technology Volunteer Training sessions below:

  • Monday, May 11 at 4 p.m. at the Chelsea Senior Center
  • Wednesday, May 13 at 4 p.m.  at Silver Maples of Chelsea
  • Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at Chelsea Retirement Community

To sign up for a session, please contact Keegan Sulecki, head of Adult Services at 475-8732 ext.218 or via email [email protected].
