Host families needed for Chelsea High School international students

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Lisa Scovel for the information in this story.)

Educatius Host Families is seeking host families for international students attending Chelsea High School in the 2019-2020 school year.

Educatius has been around for just over 10 years.  During those 10 years we have risen to become one of the top F-1 programs in the country.  We pride ourselves on our diversity and the high level of support offered to students, host families, and schools.  We bring students from 50 countries around the world to study with partner high schools like Chelsea High School.

The group has partnered with Chelsea High School since the spring of 2018.  Last school year, four students from Thailand, Vietnam and Brazil attended the high school. This school year, five students from Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam are expected.

Educatius’ Host Families come in many different shapes and sizes – young couples with small children, single persons, one parent families, empty nesters, etc. The one characteristic all Host Families share is a big heart with a lot of love for a new family member.

The host family provides a furnished room and meals in the home for the student.  Our Host Families will receive a monthly stipend to help offset the expenses of having a student in your home. Host Families are asked to provide meals, love and guidance, as well as a room with a bed, desk and dresser.

Our students are between 14 and 18 years old.  They have their own insurance and their own spending money.  We are an academic program, so they are expected to maintain a C or better in each class.

Host families and students receive 24-hour local support from local coordinators and receive a monthly stipend to help offset the cost of adding a teenager to their home.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share the United States with someone and learn about another country as well.

To learn more about the company, please go to www.educatius.org.

You can also contact Local Coordinator Anita Shawver at [email protected]. Her phone number is (517) 902-9909.
