Inauguration festivities at Chelsea District Library on Jan. 21

There will be an inauguration celebration of President Barak Obama on Monday, Jan. 21 in the McKune Room at the Chelsea District Library.

The inaugural oath, speech and afternoon festivities will be projected, via YouTube, on the McKune Room’s wide screen TV beginning at 7 p.m.

“Don’t worry if you need to work the next day, the party will conclude by 8:30 p.m. for the library’s closing at 9 p.m.,” according to information about the event.

Attendees are asked to bring a tray of savory or sweet hors d’oeuvers to share (anything you can serve with a toothpick, eat on a cracker, or finger food) to make it easy to serve and eat.

They are also asked to bring a bottle of white alcohol-free champagne to toast the president (alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the library).

Plastic glasses, napkins and plates will be provided.
