Jake Burris, an Albion College senior from Chelsea, secured his fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Men’s Diver award Saturday.
He is the first Albion diver – male or female – to win the award all four years.
Burris completed a four-year run of MIAA championships on the 1-meter board on Thursday. Burris fought through a slump in the third and fourth rounds to finish with a 500.20 total. In the process, Burris became just the third man to win the MIAA 1-meter title all four years.
Burris was the runner up in 3-meter diving on Friday.
Next up for Burris is the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Championship in Crawfordsville, Ind., this weekend.
