Jan 14: Become ‘Smart Plates’ nutrition smart at the library

Smart-Plates_logoThe Chelsea Wellness Coalition, the Chelsea District Library and Polly’s Country Market have partnered to bring you a class that will help you with your food and nutritional goals for 2015 on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

The class will take place at the library in the McKune Room and registration is required here.

Just in case you’re already sliding off-track with your New Year’s resolutions, this seminar is devoted to learning how to stay on track and/or get back on track with your food and nutrition goals for 2015.

Join Courtney Stinson, registered dietitian nutritionist, for an evening of food and fun including food demo, snacks, and expert nutrition support.

You will learn:

  • Goal setting basics – where to start and what to do if you feel stuck
  • How to make S.M.A.R.T. goals and plans
  • Activity: self-assessment and support in hitting your food and nutrition-related goals

This class will focus mostly on nutrition for weight loss and weight management but anyone wishing to eat a more nutritiously balanced diet will benefit.

Stinson is a wife, mother, and educator currently working as a food and nutrition consultant to the Chelsea Wellness Coalition and Polly’s Country Market. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and holds a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Her goal is to help families and communities discover how to eat deliciously and live nutritiously.
