July 25: Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights

Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Rick Taylor Real Estate – Reinhart Realtors continues its free summer concert series Thursday, July 25 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.

Professional artists perform at nine staged areas located throughout downtown Chelsea showcasing music, magic, and balloon twisting.

The diverse music line-up features regional artists, including singer/songwriter Ceolsige performing at the new Palmer Commons Stage on Main Street. Ypsilanti based group, Joanna & The Jaywalkers, perform a mix of Folk and Rock at Katie’s Korner on the Library Lawn.

National Touring Artist, Alex Mendenall, brings his high-energy Indie Soul music to the Sylvan Courtyard while classic rock party band, Ransom Jones, head to East Middle Street.

Brian Brickley & The Martindales play southern soul, rock & blues music at the Glazier Building and just around the corner at the Clocktower Gazebo, Box of Sol perform their own unique style of Jazz inspired by the sounds and styles of Miles Davis.

There is something for the whole family including Colors the Clown at the Clocktower Courtyard Stage. Her Whimsical Character and animal friends are sure to keep you at the edge of your seat. The family-run balloon twisting company, 3 Generations Entertainment return to the Main Street Alley.

The “Sights” of Sounds and Sights include the “How To Chalk” seminars each week beneath the Clocktower. Everyone is invited to transform the pavement into colorful works of art, this week the focus is Sea Creatures. Visitors are also invited to explore the new installation of SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided walking tour of 13 juried sculptures.

Chelsea Area Festivals & Events is a not-for-profit organization that enriches Chelsea, and the surrounding communities, by promoting the presentation of and participation in quality performing and visual arts throughout the year.
