July 28-29: Sounds & Sights Festival in Downtown Chelsea

(Chelsea Update would like to thank the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce for the information and photos in this story.)

The Sounds & Sights Festival will close the season with a two-day festival July 28-29.

Attendees can expect all their favorite Festival events, such as the Classic Car Show, Art Market, Chalk Art Contest and Exhibition, KidZone, and Farmers Market. TeenZone will be returning after a fantastic inaugural year in 2022.

This year will also see the return of Sidewalk Sales, which was actually how the festival got started 47 years ago.

This year’s social tent will be a blast and will be open from 6-11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Friday night is Country Night. Local favorite, Bovine, will kick things off and open for another fantastic Michigan band, Union Guns.

Saturday is the dance party. Celebrated musician Joshua Silas will get us started off, followed by Chelsea’s very own Ben Daniels Band. Saturday night’s closer, CRASHERZ, is sure to keep the party going, and the people dancing, with their huge collection of fan favorites.

None of this would be possible without the support and generosity of so many, like our 2023 Presenting Sponsor, Rick Taylor | Reinhart Realtors, and this year’s Diamond Sponsors; Art Moehn Chevrolet & Buick, Chelsea Hospital | A joint venture of Trinity Health and University of Michigan Health, Chelsea State Bank, Eder & Diver Insurance Agency, and Jiffy Mixes.

These events have a major impact on the economic development of Chelsea, and align perfectly with the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce’s mission to maintain Chelsea as the premier place to live, work, and recreate. So gather your friends and family, and join this summer for what is always an inspiring, unique, and all around fun time.
