Learn To Manage Your Chronic Pain

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Joyce Williams for the information in this story.)

Do you struggle with chronic pain? The reason for the pain is different for everyone, but it still hurts and affects your everyday life.

The Chronic Pain Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) free virtual workshops presented by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM), are offered at no cost to participants.

The Chronic Pain PATH workshops feature certified facilitators working with small groups of people and their loved ones to become more successful at managing pain and leading healthier, more enjoyable lives. PATH workshops are open to all residents in Michigan who have an internet connection on a computer, tablet or smartphone. No transportation needed!

As a group participant, while exploring various skills and tools, you will learn how to:

  • Challenge myths about dealing with pain
  • Master techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation and poor sleep
  • Pace yourself around activity and rest
  • Exercise appropriately to maintain or improve strength and endurance
  • Use medication wisely
  • Work effectively with family and health care providers
