Lehman & Scheffler Real Estate has plans to help nurses with gift boxes, seeks donations

By Lisa Carolin

Some Chelsea businesses are putting their energies toward helping people during the coronavirus epidemic.

One of them is Lehman & Scheffler Real Estate Services, where staff has been brainstorming ways to help the nursing staff at both St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and the Chelsea Retirement Center.

“We know that the supply of personal protective equipment has been low, and healthcare workers’ hours and risks have increased over the last few weeks as they have been doing everything in their power to care for patients,” said Tammy Lehman.  “We thought it would be nice to show them some appreciation and try to boost morale.”

Lehman & Scheffler is looking for help from the public and has set up a wish list on Amazon. Anyone who wants to help can purchase items to include in the boxes, which will be assembled by Tammy and Reagan Lehman and taken to the hospital and CRC. Those items include everything from vitamin C packets to deodorant wipes, latex free gloves, disposable gowns, snack items, and more.

“We will be making up 25 boxes at a time and delivering them as needed,” said Lehman. “Once April is over, we will reassess this number for the months of May and June and decide if we will be able to continue. Community support will be key in accomplishing this.”

This is just the latest community service project sponsored and supported by Lehman & Scheffler.

“Every one of our agents has agreed to donate a portion of their commission to help sponsor or support an organization in 2020,” said Lehman. “They do this in addition to their individual sponsorships and roles in various community committees and positions.”

Lehman & Scheffler has sponsored events at the Chelsea Senior Center, the Chelsea Education Foundation, the Chelsea High School Athletic Department, Sounds & Sights, the Chelsea Fair Livestock Auction, and more.

If you want to donate items to Lehman & Scheffler’s gift boxes to local nurses, go to the link https://a.co/5koxY1S to order. Items will be shipped to Lehman & Scheffler’s office.

  1. I tried ordering gloves and alcohol swabs. They are not available for gift options. So I cannot send them to Lehman&Scheffler. Is there another way to get them there?

    • I called Tammy Lehman and asked her for suggestions. In the past, I’ve ordered things from Amazon and used my name but instead of my address, I put address of the person I wanted to send it to and was able to get it to go through.

  2. As a mom of a nurse working during this crisis I am sure these people will be very appreciative of these gift boxes. Thanks for stepping up and doing this for them.

  3. Yes please don’t select it as a gift just buy the item and have it shipped to Lehman & Scheffler 114 S. Main Street, Ste. 300, Chelsea, MI 48118.

Items are starting to be delivered thank you for donating we love this community and want to do our part.
