Dear Editor:
I love this time of year. The crunchy leaves, apple and pumpkin spice deliciousness, Halloween, the gorgeous and chilly twilight evenings turning us toward winter, and the… flowers.
Yes, the flowers. Even now, the gorgeous arrangements in public spaces have meant visually stunning, long-lasting, fragrant, and bountiful displays throughout town. My drive home takes me past the display at the corner of Van Buren and Main, and as of mid-October, it still flourishes. Downtown is even more profound.
The reminder that Chelsea is literally a vibrant, life-breathing, growing community for so much of the year is inspiring. I want to thank those businesses in town that host nature on their front stoops and garden beds. But most especially, I want to applaud the Chelsea Gardening Club for their amazing work, year after year.
May your passion for sharing this joy with the community never wilt, never be without food and water to nourish it, and never be without the pride of watching your hard work bloom. Thank you.
