Letter to the Editor: Discussions, Listening Between People In Chelsea Are What’s Missing

Dear Editor:
I have always found it interesting how people blame One World One Family (OWOF) for the ills of Chelsea.

It is a group like all other community groups in the city. Truly, I believe it is not only our community, but the whole country who has divided itself. It is just here, too.

Mr. McIntosh you could choose to speak with different people whether they fit your narrative or not. Do you ask people who they are affiliated with before speaking to them? If you do and they are not in your belief system, do you walk away?

Chelsea, like all other cities and towns across this country are not perfect. There is always something that can change for the better. Maybe as a person in the city, you could decide to be on a committee or group that interests you.

I miss the days when you could speak to people, listen to them, and have a discussion. That is what I believe is missing. It should not be you are right and I am wrong. If we actually want to learn about each other, please listen. It is okay if we don’t agree with everything, but we might learn there is agreement in some things we say to each other.

Mr. McIntosh, I, for one, would like to have a conversation with you. I don’t ask people what side they are on. It is interesting to me why people feel the way they do.

You could contact me through the editor who can give you my email.
