Lima Township Board Hears Details of Upcoming Meeting about B2B Trail

By Lisa Carolin

Work is underway on the Border to Border Trail segment that begins at Dancer Road and Dexter-Chelsea Road and ends at the intersection of Wylie Road and Dexter-Chelsea Road.

That was discussed at the Jan. 11 Lima Township Board meeting via Zoom.

Anyone interested in learning more about that section of the B2B Trail is invited to participate in a virtual meeting run by the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission along with Huron Waterloo Paths initiative and Border to Border Trail representatives.

That meeting takes place Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 7-8 p.m. via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85284824700 using the Meeting ID: 852 8482 4700.

The Lima Township Board unanimously approved guidelines for poverty taxation exemptions aimed at people having a hard time paying their property taxes.

Also approved was naming the property located at 11506 Jackson Road as the Lima Depot. In addition, the board approved authorizing Lima Township Supervisor Duane Luick to lease the Lima Depot to either residential or commercial renters at the market rate. Luick said he would discuss a final price with the board before he rents it.

The board also authorized Luick to remove, recycle, and dispose of any equipment in both the Lima Depot and Lima Township Hall basement.
