The Lyndon Township Board met on Tuesday, July 14, and in its first order of business, unanimously adopted a resolution strongly supporting the proposed Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) roundabout at the intersection of M-52 and Werkner Road. The resolution also expressly stated that the board is against installing a stop light at that intersection.

According to Township Supervisor Marc Keezer, “There is going to be some type of a traffic control method at Werkner Road, and I don’t think a stoplight is the best solution.” Keezer went on to read the resolution, which stated that “A signal at that intersection would cause traffic issues.”

Next on the agenda was the selection of a township architect. The board unanimously chose Ed Wier. Weir has had previous experience in the area, having designed the Sylvan Township Hall.

The board also voted to begin posting the Lyndon Township Board packets on the township website, minus the financials, provided there is no additional cost in using the Minutes on Demand system. The system is already used for township government meeting minutes. Township Treasurer Mary Jane Maze opposed this motion because of possible last minute additions or deletions that might arise before the meeting.

Lastly, the board unanimously approved the purchase of a new laptop at a cost not to exceed $1,800. The new computer will used by Supervisor Keezer, and the old laptop, which has the township billing software installed, will be used strictly for billing.

  1. These people need to be voted out of office. The traffic problem it will cause early morning and evening will be impossible.

  2. There will be more accidents as people do not yield. Just today I was going through the roundabout at Miller Road and 14, I almost had my bumper removed as another driver didn’t stop or hesitate through the yield sign until he locked the brakes up to avoid hitting me.
