The Chelsea Downtown Development Authority Main Street crosswalk project is expected to begin mobilizing early next week, if the weather cooperates.
The two-phase project is expected to be completed by June 30.
The primary work locations are the intersections of Main and Van Buren, Summit, Orchard and North and the project will take place in two phases.
Phase 1 will include all the work on east side of Main Street and is expected to take about 30 days. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
Phase 2 will include all work on west side of Main Street and is also expected to take 30 days. Two way traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
Included in the project is the installation of concrete sidewalks, brick pavers, the installation of a storm sewer and curb and gutter work.
