It’s spring and time to start moving. One easy way is trying the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan’s A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls.
This in-person workshop helps older adults prevent falls and reduce the fear of falling. The workshop also helps participants safely increase their physical activity, learn strategies to prevent falls and improve balance and flexibility.
The workshop includes step-by-step instruction, helpful for those who have not exercised before or in a long time. Extras include a workbook, snacks and water. The eight-week in-person workshop is open to any adult 65 and older. There is no cost to participate but donations are always welcome.
