May 22: check out Jacob’s Fresh Farm at the Wednesday Farmers Market

Wednesday, May 22’s Chelsea Farmers Market is the place to be for many of your spring planting needs, from dahlias to tomatoes, herb and pepper plants.

There will also be plenty of produce including micro greens from Jacob’s Fresh Farm located north of Chelsea. Jacob D’Lamater is the owner of the farm, which he has expanded from an acre-and-a-half to 6 acres.

Jacob’s Fresh Farm sells eggs, honey, salad mix, potatoes, mushrooms, radishes, plants and more. The farm is chemical-free and its produce is from non-GMO and heirloom varieties.

Jacob’s Fresh Farm is a vendor at both the Wednesday and Saturday Chelsea markets. One extra perk on Wednesdays is D’Lamater brings his friendly and adorable pig Gilbert.

The Wednesday Chelsea Farmers Market runs from 1-5 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US-12. You can also find meats, baked goods, pottery and crafts.

Among the vendors at this season’s Wednesday market are Brieland-Schoultz Farm, Jacob’s Fresh Farm Shares, K’s Acres, Needle Lane Farm, Pregitzer Farm, Bordine Farms, Golden Fleece Farms, Marks Farm, Kapnick Orchards, Affeathermations, LA Baguette, Stone Hearth Bakery, Awakened Provisions, Sweet & Salty (cookies), Smellz So Good (candles), and Jam Man.
