Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, and Chelsea’s annual parade will take place at 10 a.m.

Participants will gather in the municipal parking lot downtown, and the parade route will be south on Main Street, east on Park Street, north on East Street, and east on Middle Street. The parade is hosted by the Herbert J. McKune American Legion Post 31.

There will then be a traditional ceremony to honor veterans at Oak Grove Cemetery.

This year, Craig Maier, a veteran and Lima township supervisor, will be the Master of Ceremonies, and Jeff Gunnis will be the speaker.

Afterward, there will be an informal luncheon at the American Legion Post 31 at 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.
