Looking for a warm-up for the Chelsea Heart and Soul race or a way to get out and exercise while helping a wonderful cause?
Then register today for the Dynamic Duos fundraiser 5-K fun race at Hudson Mills Metropark on Sunday, May 4. The run and costume judging begin at 10 a.m. and participants can start picking up their race packets at 8 a.m.
This is a non-timed run so it’s a great chance to get ready for next weekend’s Chelsea Heart and Sole Race, and the first 200 adults will receive a T-shirt.
There’s a costume contest, a dog friendly race, special children’s awards and activities, fastest male and female prizes and fastest duo prize all on a paved trail that is handicap accessible.
The metro park entry fee is $7 per car or with a metro park pass.
The fee for the race $10 for those under 12 years old, $20 for participants 13-24 years old, $30+a duo discount for those 25-64 years old, runners over 65 years old pay $20.

Miss Washtenaw County KT Maviglia and Miss Washtenaw County’s Outstanding Teen Grace Newlin have become a Dynamic Duo to support – The KT Maviglia Foundation for Hearing Disabilities, The Scleroderma Foundation and the University of Michigan Rheumatology Department for Scleroderma Research.
The purpose of the run is to raise funds to support the mission of both of their philanthropies. The Miss America Organization requires each to choose an issue about which she cares deeply.
Maviglia started the non-profit foundation, KT Maviglia Foundation for Hearing Disabilities, and the money raised through the foundation goes directly to children in the state of Michigan who need financial assistance with hearing equipment. This cause is very important to KT since she has a hearing disability.
Newlin has partnered with the Michigan Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation and the University of Michigan to support two family members affected by the disease.
