Meals on Wheels in need of drivers, please volunteer

Publisher’s note: Meals on Wheels are delivered daily, so you can volunteer on days other than Thursdays.

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Susie Catherman for the information in this story.)

Meals on Wheels is in need of drivers and helping your neighbors will only take about an hour of your time a week.

Drivers deliver meals each week day in Chelsea and training is available to anyone who might be interested.

Susie Catherman says she delivers Meals on Wheels on Thursdays and lately, “We have been having a real shortage of drivers.”

She says the deliveries are all in Chelsea, with the exception of two routes that are south of town and one north of town.

Training is available (which basically consists of riding along with another driver to learn the route) and would be about a maximum of 1 hr a week.

Drivers use their own cars.

The meals are delivered out of the Faith in Action building.

Please contact Mary Erksine at 475-0160 if you’d be willing to volunteer to help your neighbors.

  1. Thanks, Susie for this post. Sub Drivers for every day would be wonderful.
An hour occasionally for a great program.
