Michigan Older Adults in Action

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Gretchen Zale for the information in this story.)

Several older adults collaborating in the Silver Solutions Network programs, have been watching a webinar “Emotional and Mental Health in Older Adults” put on by University of Colorado Anschutz Multidisciplinary Center on Aging.

As a result, participants of that webinar were invited to participate in a program (COAST-IT) “Connecting older adults to students through Inter-Professional Telecare.”

Five Chelsea older adults have been communicating with health professional students in pharmacy, nursing, and dentistry bi-monthly.

The purpose of the program (Called COAST-IT) is to improve their communication skills of the health professional students and better serve older adult patients.  Two of the participating Chelsea seniors have been invited to be panel members on a program sponsored by Colorado University, April 29.
