Kevin Riley is hard at work reorganizing the temporary space for the New Chelsea Market following the store’s move from Main Street in the downtown to the old CJ’s deli space in the Chelsea Shopping Center in southtown.
The new, temporary location is next to the old Chelsea Pharmacy space, which eventually will be the New Chelsea Market’s new home, and he’s got site plans prepared for the new store.
Riley said Wednesday afternoon that he’s waiting for zoning permits from the city to reopen in the temporary location — and hopes to be back in business in the next few weeks.
On a recent Facebook post he said, “started to get permits to open up a temporary location in the CL’s deli site and the storefront next door. Getting the final plans bid out for the old Chelsea Pharmacy site (next to CL’s) and hope to start construction soon.”
He said customers have been stopping by to check on the progress.
Once open in his new location, the store will expand from 2,500 square feet to 7,500 square feet.
Sure do miss you on Main Street.
