Nick Heller of Dexter and Gale Koebbe of Manchester were honored with distinguished service to agriculture lifetime achievement awards Thursday night at 2013 Washtenaw County Agriculture banquet.

The banquet, which took place at the Chelsea High School cafeteria, is sponsored by the Washtenaw County Dairy & Livestock Council and the Washtenaw County MSU Extension.

About 240 people attended the banquet and learned about the National 4-H livestock judging contest, which took place in Kentucky, and was attended by Jacob Kern of Chelsea, Zeke Breuninger of Dexter, Kayla Holsten of Saline and Abbie Walkowe of Manchester.

In addition, organizers wanted to extend special thanks for the table centerpieces to Heim’s Greenhouse of Sylvan Township and for the guest flowers, which were given to all the ladies in attendance, to Chelsea Village Flowers.
