As expected, current Council Member Frank Hammer has officially filed his paperwork to run for a two-year seat in the Nov. 5 City Council election as the number of candidates running now totals nine.
And at this point, Mayor Jason Lindauer is the only candidate who is running unopposed for re-election.
To recap, there are currently five people running for the three 4-year City Council seats. They are (alphabetically) Council Member Cheri Albertson, Planning Commissioners Jeff Blazok and Melissa Johnson, and Council Members Marcia Parker and Dustin Suntheimer.
Thus far, three people have filed to run for the two 2-year seats. They are Hammer, Jane Pacheco and Susan J. Moore.
Interested candidates have until 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 to file an Affidavit of Identity and signed petitions, and must specify which seat they plan to seek. To download a candidate packet please click here.To download a petition, please click here.
