Nine candidates interview for Chelsea City Council vacancy

On Monday, Aug. 24, nine candidates interested in filling the open Chelsea City Council seat were interviewed by the six current elected officials.

One candidate withdrew his application prior to the interviews that took about four hours to complete.

Here’s the link to the video of the interviews.

Here’s the random order in which they were interviewed: Christine Peiter, followed by Veralynn Klink, Jennifer Kwas, Greg Zanz, Erin Brayton, Marcia White, Michael Happy, Mackenzie Pfeiffer, and Fran Brennan.

Each candidate was asked the same six opening questions followed by individual questions from City Council members.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the council will vote for its newest member to fill the vacancy and that person will serve until the next City Council election in November, 2021. The appointee will be sworn-in at the start of the meeting and immediately begin deliberations.
