Nov. 11: Chelsea Lions Club informational meeting

Dear Chelsea Community:
Thank you for the support and interest you expressed upon hearing the local Chelsea Lions Club had closed after serving our community for the past 42 years.

Due to the positive comments and responses that were received following this announcement, we are evaluating a possible re-launch of the club.

Lions Clubs International is the largest global service organization in the world with more than 1.4 million active members in more than 200 countries. There is no religious or political affiliation and those involved share a desire to help others in need within their local community and beyond.

The organization empowers volunteers to serve others via humanitarian efforts, assists individuals with visual impairments, provides compassion to those affected by childhood cancer, raises awareness about diabetes prevention, helps to protect our environment, encourages peace, and promotes international partnerships.

All are invited to attend an Informational Meeting at the Chelsea District Library on Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. This event will take place in the McKune Room.

In the spirit of partnership, we encourage individuals and families (children are welcome) to join us so we can better understand the interests and needs of Chelsea residents.

We hope this discussion will help to revitalize sufficient interest to support a healthy, local club and continue the momentum of this group for decades to come.

Sincerely,
Antoinette Conway
Acting President of Chelsea Lions Club
