Nov. 18: Transition Town Chelsea to hear from Sustainability Advisory Commission

On Monday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Street Education Center, Room 112, Transition Town Chelsea will hear from Tom Girard of the Chelsea Sustainability Advisory Commission.

Girard chaired the commission and he will give his presentation about the group’s work.

He has also been a member of the Transition Town Chelsea steering committee. Girard will explain the process by which the commission came up with its recommendations, what the next steps are for the Chelsea City Council, and how some of their ideas may be implemented. 

The top three:

  • Hold a “Green Fair” in Chelsea.
  • Install large-scale solar PV arrays at the City’s water plant and wastewater treatment plant.
  • Develop a Community Solar programs for residents on the City’s municipal electric utility.

The potluck meal begins at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7:15. If you are coming to the potluck meal, please bring a dish to pass and your own place settings.
