Nov. 19: St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea community health needs assessment forum

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Reiley Curran for the information in this story.)

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea is holding a Community Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 19  from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Atrium Conference Room B.

This event is free and open to everyone.

The Affordable Care Act requires all non-profit hospitals to conduct a community health needs assessment every three years, and we are currently in the process of conducting our latest assessment. Results of the 2012 CHNA are available here under Community Benefit.

The CHNA will take into account input from public health experts, the poor and underserved, and populations with chronic diseases. In addition to an electronic survey, we are also using data from here, the county health rankings, and the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth survey done by local middle and high schools.

The Community Forum will be a chance for people to hear a summary of the health data collected, and provide their input on the most important needs in our area.

If you have questions about the forum, or would like more information about the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea CHNA, please call 734-593-5279, or [email protected].
